½ teaspoon sea salt

¼ teaspoon black pepper

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Optional: 1 teaspoon pomegranate seeds for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Onions: Thinly slice the red onions and place them in a large bowl.

Combine Oils and Seasonings: In a separate small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, sumac, lemon juice, sea salt, black pepper, and minced garlic until well blended.

Dress the Onions: Pour the dressing over the sliced onions, tossing to ensure that the onions are well coated with the mixture.

Marinate: Allow the onions to marinate for at least 30 minutes at room temperature to let the flavors meld together. For a deeper flavor, refrigerate for up to 2 hours.

Serve: Before serving, give the onions a final toss and adjust seasoning if necessary. Garnish with fresh parsley and sprinkle pomegranate seeds on top for a pop of color and sweetness if desired.
