Ingredients

1 lb flank steak

2 cups rotini pasta

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Salt and pepper to taste

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Marinate the Steak: In a small bowl, mix honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, rice vinegar, and cornstarch to create a marinade. Place the flank steak in a resealable plastic bag and pour the marinade over it. Seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or overnight for more flavor).

Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the rotini pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Prepare the Steak: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade, shaking off any excess. Reserve the marinade for later. Season the steak lightly with salt and pepper.

Sear the Steak: Add the steak to the skillet and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired doneness (medium rare is recommended). Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing.

Thicken the Sauce: In the same skillet, pour the reserved marinade. Bring it to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 3-5 minutes, or until it thickens slightly.

Toss the Pasta: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked rotini and the thickened honey garlic sauce. Toss until the pasta is well coated.

Slice and Serve: Thinly slice the rested steak against the grain. Plate the sauced rotini and top with the sliced steak. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
