Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

3 fresh jalapeño peppers, finely chopped (adjust based on spice preference)

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon cumin

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for extra heat)

1/2 cup chicken broth

Juice of 1 lime

Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Lime wedges (for serving)

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken: Season the chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and cumin. Rub the spices evenly over the chicken.

Sauté the Jalapeños and Garlic: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped jalapeños and minced garlic, and sauté for about 2 minutes, until fragrant and the jalapeños are slightly tender.

Cook the Chicken: Move the jalapeño and garlic mixture to one side of the skillet. Place the seasoned chicken breasts in the skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on one side until golden brown.

Add Chicken Broth: Flip the chicken breasts over, then add the chicken broth and lime juice to the skillet. Cover and reduce the heat to low. Simmer for about 15-20 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C) is reached.

Finishing Touches: Once cooked, remove the skillet from heat. Let the chicken rest for a few minutes. Slice the chicken and mix it back into the jalapeño sauce for extra flavor.

Serve: Plate the spicy jalapeno chicken, garnishing with fresh cilantro. Serve with lime wedges for an extra zing.
