Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour (heat-treated)

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

3/4 cup brown sugar, packed

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup mini chocolate chips

8 oz milk chocolate or dark chocolate, for dipping

Sprinkles or cocoa powder, for decoration (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Flour: Start by heat-treating the flour to kill any bacteria. Spread the flour on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes. Allow it to cool.

Make the Cookie Dough: In a large bowl, cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes using handheld mixer or stand mixer.

Add Vanilla and Salt: Mix in the vanilla extract and salt, blending until evenly incorporated.

Combine with Flour: Gradually add the heat-treated flour to the creamed mixture, mixing until fully combined. The dough may be crumbly at first, but keep mixing until it comes together.

Fold in Chocolate Chips: Gently fold in the mini chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Form the Truffles: Using your hands, roll the dough into small balls (about 1 inch in diameter) and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. You should have about 20-24 truffles.

Chill: Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to firm up the truffles.

Melt Chocolate: While the truffles chill, melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth and fully melted.

Dip and Decorate: Remove the truffles from the refrigerator. Using a fork, dip each truffle into the melted chocolate, allowing excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl. Place the dipped truffles back on the parchment-lined baking sheet. If desired, sprinkle with sprinkles or dust with cocoa powder before the chocolate hardens.

Set: Refrigerate the truffles until the chocolate is set, about 15-20 minutes.

Serve and Enjoy: Once hardened, transfer the truffles to an airtight container. Enjoy your delicious no-bake chocolate chip cookie dough truffles as a sweet treat or dessert!
