Ingredients

4 chicken thighs (bone-in, skin-on for extra flavor)

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1 teaspoon ground coriander

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

3 cloves garlic (minced)

1 lemon (juiced)

1 tablespoon honey

1/4 cup chicken broth

Fresh cilantro (for garnish)

Instructions

Marinate the Chicken: In a large bowl, combine olive oil, ground cumin, ground coriander, ground cinnamon, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, black pepper, minced garlic, lemon juice, and honey. Mix well to create a paste.

Coat the Chicken: Add the chicken thighs to the marinade, making sure they are thoroughly coated. Cover the bowl and let it marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator (overnight is even better for enhanced flavor).

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

Prepare for Roasting: Place the marinated chicken thighs in a baking dish. Pour the chicken broth around the thighs to keep them moist during cooking.

Roast the Chicken: Roast the chicken in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the skin is crispy and golden brown.

Baste for Flavor: Midway through roasting, baste the chicken with the pan juices to enhance its flavor and ensure tenderness.

Rest and Garnish: Once cooked, remove from the oven and let the chicken rest for 5-10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh cilantro for a pop of color and freshness.

Serve Enjoy: Serve the Moroccan Spiced Chicken with couscous or a side salad to soak up the rich flavors. Enjoy your delicious Moroccan-inspired dish!
