Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast

1 tsp sugar

3/4 cup warm water (about 110°F/43°C)

1 tsp salt

1 tbsp olive oil

1 cup marinara sauce

1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup sliced pepperoni (or your choice of toppings)

Fresh basil leaves (for garnish)

Optional: Red pepper flakes for extra spice

Instructions

Prepare the Dough: In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until combined, then knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

First Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Shape the Pizzas: Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Once the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it out onto a floured surface. Divide the dough into 4 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball and then stretch it into a heart shape about ¼ inch thick.

Add Sauce and Toppings: Place your heart-shaped pizza bases on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spread a couple of tablespoons of marinara sauce over each pizza. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese and add your desired toppings (pepperoni, veggies, etc.).

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.

Serve: Remove from the oven and let the pizzas cool for a couple of minutes. Garnish with fresh basil leaves and a sprinkle of red pepper flakes if desired. Cut into slices or serve whole.
