Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (preferably 80/20 for the best flavor)

3 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 tablespoon sesame oil

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

3 green onions, chopped (white and green parts separated)

1 cup broccoli florets

1 cup cooked jasmine rice (or rice of choice)

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Sesame seeds, for garnish

Soft boiled eggs (optional), for serving

Instructions

Marinate the Ground Beef: In a medium bowl, combine the ground beef, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 20 minutes.

Prepare the Rice: While the beef is marinating, cook the jasmine rice according to package instructions. Once cooked, set aside.

Cook the Vegetables: In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the broccoli florets and sauté for 3-4 minutes, until vibrant and just tender. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Cook the Beef: In the same skillet, add the marinated ground beef. Cook over medium-high heat, breaking it apart with a spatula. Stir frequently until the beef is browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.

Combine Everything: Once the beef is fully cooked, return the broccoli to the skillet along with the white parts of the chopped green onions. Cook for another 2 minutes until everything is heated through and well mixed.

Assemble the Bowls: In individual serving bowls, layer the cooked jasmine rice on the bottom. Top with a generous scoop of the beef and broccoli mixture.

Garnish: Sprinkle sesame seeds and green parts of the green onions on top. If desired, add a soft boiled egg for extra richness.

Serve: Enjoy your savory Korean ground beef bowl immediately, mixing all the ingredients together for a delightful bite!
