Ingredients

2 large yellow onions, finely chopped

1 cup sour cream

1 cup cream cheese, softened

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

Fresh chives, chopped (for garnish)

1 bag of tortilla chips or sliced baguette (for serving)

Instructions

Sauté the Onions: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are golden brown and caramelized, about 15-20 minutes. Add the minced garlic during the last 2 minutes of cooking. Remove from heat and set aside.

Mix the Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Stir well to combine until smooth.

Incorporate Cheeses: Add the sautéed onion and garlic mixture to the bowl, along with the shredded cheddar cheese and grated Parmesan cheese. Mix gently until all ingredients are well incorporated.

Prepare for Baking: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the dip mixture to a greased baking dish, spreading it evenly.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the dip is bubbly and golden on top.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly. Garnish with chopped fresh chives. Serve warm with tortilla chips or sliced baguette alongside for dipping.
