Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup brown sugar, packed

2 large eggs

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

3 cups all-purpose flour

¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup chocolate frosting (for topping)

Optional: Sprinkles or sea salt for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line several baking sheets with parchment paper.

Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.

Add Eggs and Vanilla: Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract until well combined.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt until well-blended.

Mix Dry with Wet Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Fold in Chocolate Chips: Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Scoop the Dough: Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop generous portions of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches between each ball.

Bake Cookies: Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are set but the centers are soft. Remove from the oven and allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Frost the Cookies: Once cooled, use a knife or spatula to spread a layer of chocolate frosting on top of each cookie.

Garnish (Optional): If desired, sprinkle with colorful sprinkles or a pinch of sea salt for added flair.
