1 lb (450g) boneless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces

1/2 cup cornstarch

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Oil for frying

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon ginger, minced

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 tablespoon sesame oil

2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions
 

Prepare Chicken Coating: In a large bowl, mix together cornstarch, flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper.

    Coat the Chicken: Add the chicken pieces to the flour mixture ensuring each piece is thoroughly coated. Shake off any excess flour.

      Heat Oil: In a deep skillet or wok, heat enough oil over medium-high heat to submerge the chicken pieces. The oil should be around 350°F (175°C).

        Fry Chicken: Once the oil is hot, carefully add the chicken pieces in small batches. Fry for about 5-6 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove the chicken and drain on paper towels.

          Prepare Honey Garlic Sauce: In a separate saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, and allow it to thicken slightly (about 3-4 minutes).

            Combine Chicken with Sauce: Add the crispy chicken pieces to the saucepan with the honey garlic sauce. Toss well to ensure each piece is evenly coated.
