Ingredients

1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips

1 cup buttermilk

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon paprika

½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)

Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

Marinate the Chicken: In a medium bowl, pour the buttermilk over the chicken strips. Make sure they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight for best results.

Prepare the Flour Coating: In a separate large bowl, mix together the flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper.

Dredge the Chicken: Remove the chicken from the buttermilk, allowing the excess to drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, ensuring an even coating. Shake off any excess flour.

Fry the Chicken: In a deep pan or skillet, heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). Carefully add the coated chicken tenders to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.

Cook Until Golden: Fry the chicken tenders for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through. Use a meat thermometer to ensure they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).

Drain and Serve: Once cooked, remove the tenders from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
