Ingredients

1 pound flank steak

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 tablespoon olive oil

8 slider buns

1 cup shredded lettuce

1 large tomato, sliced

½ cup red onion, thinly sliced

1 avocado, sliced

½ cup cowboy butter (see below for recipe)

Cowboy Butter Ingredients:

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for spice)

Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

Make the Cowboy Butter: In a bowl, combine the softened butter, garlic, parsley, chives, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and pepper. Mix well until fully combined. Transfer to a piece of plastic wrap, shape it into a log, and refrigerate until firm (about 30 minutes).

Cook the Steak: Season the flank steak with salt and pepper. Heat the olive oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steak and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your preferred doneness. Remove from heat and let it rest for 5-10 minutes.

Slice the Steak: Once rested, slice the steak into thin strips against the grain.

Assemble the Sliders: Cut the slider buns in half and lightly toast them if desired. Spread a generous amount of cowboy butter on the bottom half of each bun. Add a layer of shredded lettuce, followed by a few slices of steak. Top with tomato, red onion, and avocado. Finish with the top half of the bun.

Serve: Serve immediately with extra cowboy butter on the side for dipping, if desired.
