Ingredients

1 lb (450g) thinly sliced beef (flank steak or sirloin)

3 cups broccoli florets

3 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 tablespoon sesame oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1-inch piece ginger, grated

½ cup beef broth

1 teaspoon sugar

Salt and pepper to taste

Cooked jasmine rice for serving

Sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish

Instructions

Marinate the Beef: In a medium bowl, combine the sliced beef, 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, and cornstarch. Mix well and let marinate for at least 20 minutes.

Prepare the Broccoli: In a large pan or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the broccoli florets and stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until vibrant green and slightly tender. Remove from the pan and set aside.

Cook the Beef: In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the marinated beef in a single layer and cook for about 3-4 minutes until browned and almost cooked through. Stir occasionally to cook evenly.

Combine Ingredients: Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the beef, stirring quickly for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Return the broccoli to the pan.

Add Sauce: In a small bowl, mix the remaining 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, oyster sauce, beef broth, sugar, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Pour the sauce over the beef and broccoli mixture, stirring to coat everything evenly. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

Finishing Touch: Drizzle with sesame oil and toss lightly. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.

Serve: Remove from heat and serve hot over a bed of cooked jasmine rice. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
