Ingredients

For the Pimento Cheese:

1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

1/2 cup cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup mayonnaise

1/4 cup diced pimentos (drained)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

For the Burgers:

1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend recommended)

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Salt and pepper to taste

4 hamburger buns

Lettuce leaves

Sliced tomatoes

Sliced red onions (optional)

Pickles (optional)

Instructions

Make the Pimento Cheese:

    - In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded sharp cheddar cheese and softened cream cheese. Mix until well blended.

      - Add the mayonnaise, diced pimentos, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir until everything is well incorporated. Adjust seasoning to taste. Set aside.

        Prepare the Burgers:

          - In another bowl, gently mix the ground beef with Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Be careful not to overwork the meat to maintain juiciness.

            - Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties that are slightly larger than your buns to account for shrinkage during cooking.

              Cook the Burgers:

                - Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, lightly oil the surface.

                  - Cook the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes for medium (or longer if preferred).

                    - In the last minute of cooking, place a generous mound of pimento cheese on each burger and cover with a lid to melt.

                      Assemble the Burgers:

                        - Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden.

                          - Start layering with lettuce on the bottom bun, followed by the pimento cheese-topped burger, sliced tomatoes, red onions, and pickles if desired.

                            - Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
