Ingredients

8 oz. lo mein noodles

1 lb. flank steak, thinly sliced

2 cups broccoli florets

1 bell pepper (red or green), sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 tbsp oyster sauce

1 tbsp hoisin sauce

2 tsp sesame oil

1 tbsp cornstarch

2 tbsp vegetable oil

1/2 cup beef broth

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Prep the Noodles: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the lo mein noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain, rinse with cold water, and set aside.

Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine the sliced flank steak with cornstarch, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, and 1 teaspoon of sesame oil. Let it marinate for about 15 minutes while you prepare other ingredients.

Blanch the Broccoli: In a separate pot, bring water to a boil and add the broccoli florets. Blanch for 2 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Remove and immediately place them in ice water to stop cooking. Drain and set aside.

Prepare the Stir-Fry Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, and beef broth. Set aside.

Cook the Beef: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef in a single layer and sear for about 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.

Stir-Fry Vegetables: In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the minced garlic, ginger, and sliced bell pepper. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until fragrant and slightly tender.

Combine Everything: Return the beef to the pan along with the blanched broccoli. Pour in the prepared stir-fry sauce and toss everything together. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly and everything is well combined.

Toss in Noodles: Add the cooked lo mein noodles to the skillet, tossing gently to coat them in the sauce. Cook for an additional 2 minutes, ensuring everything is heated through.

Serve: Garnish the dish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot and enjoy your homemade Beef and Broccoli Lo Mein!
