Ingredients

4 slices of thick bread (Brioche or Challah work great)

2 large eggs

1/2 cup whole milk

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

A pinch of salt

Butter for frying

Maple syrup, fresh fruits, or powdered sugar for serving (optional)

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, crack the eggs and beat them lightly with a whisk.

Add the whole milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt to the beaten eggs. Whisk until all the ingredients are well combined and the mixture is smooth.

Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Add a small pat of butter and let it melt, coating the surface of the pan.

Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak for a few seconds on each side. Make sure the bread is coated but not overly soggy.

Once the skillet is hot, place the soaked bread slices in the pan, cooking for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and slightly crisp. Remove from skillet and place on a plate.

Repeat the process for the remaining slices, adding more butter to the skillet as needed.

Serve the French toast warm, topped with maple syrup, fresh fruits, or a sprinkle of powdered sugar, according to your preference. Enjoy your delicious creation!
